Master of Form: Celebrating Max Bill’s Birthday

Today, December 22nd, we celebrate the birth of the Swiss master architect, artist, and designer, Max Bill (born 1908)! A true polymath, Bill was heavily influenced by his time studying at the legendary Bauhaus (1927–29). He became a central figure in the development of Concrete Art and defined a style rooted in austere, elegant geometric forms and precision. Max Bill’s work, including his influential graphic and industrial designs, embodied the functional beauty of modernism. He didn’t just design art; he designed a vision for a rational, beautiful world, co-founding the famous Ulm School of Design in Germany.
