“Bagatelle No. 25” (commonly known as “Für Elise”, German for For Elise) for solo piano is one of the Ludwig van Beethoven’s most popular works and one of the most recognized melodies in the history of music. The song was written for a lady called Therese (nicknamed Elise) that Beethoven wanted to marry in 1810.
