145 years ago today, painter and poster artist Leonetto Cappiello was born in Livorno, Italy. Leonetto Cappiello started his career as a caricaturist before dedicating himself to poster art. Sometimes called the “father of the advertising poster,” Cappiello spent 40 active years in Paris, creating over 500 posters in his career.
